1. I hate it.
2. I don't even like sweets/baked goods.
3. Adam says when I bake, I never eat it and then he eats an entire dessert himself.
4. It makes an awful mess.
5. A regular meal just tastes better.
6. Things never go as planned...

...all that being said, I found a recipe for petit fours that looked pretty simple (LONG, but simple.) So I thought what the heck....things started out great, everything as planned- until I got to the icing:

it made an awful mess. Then, they didn't even taste good! I will say it was totally my fault(obviously-I was the one baking!). I messed up the icing from the beginning and as I tried to fix it, it just got worse. The consistency was too thin and just made it WAY too sweet.

HOWEVER, I will perfect this one and report back to you when things work out. After last night though, I'm out of powedered sugar. Stay tuned....

I can't believe you attempted petit fours! Gosh! I have even attempted that mainly b/c of all the work. It's easier to just buy them at Publix. Maybe you shouldn't try such hard things! haha! But when you perfect them- I will be the first in line to try them!! haha
I agree with Sarah. Try easier stuff, you can look good with not so much stress. Who makes petit fours anyway? Cupcakes are easier and if you want them smaller use the little cups. I commend your try though. Love always.
oh NO! These petit fours will not defeat me...I will get it right, eventually. They aren't hard to do- it's the dang icing that I can't get just right...
I agree with Sarah and Aunt Lynn. Why on earth did you choose petit fours to make out of all the yummy and much easier things to make? You are so funny. You should wait until we come there to attempt them again and I will sample away!
