A Few More...

Okay- so here are a few more of our pictures- there are too many to upload to blogger but here's a peek...I think she did a great job considering we were what she had to work with! It was 11:00 (which happens to maddox's nap time) why didn't i think of that before I made the appt? So ofcourse he was not the happiest camper, it was SO SO HOT out! We were sweating so BAD! and the kids were a little skittish about being followed with a camera- all in all I think they turned out pretty good, I will definitely be booking with her again :)

After 8 coats!!!!.....

...this is what we decided on! After the last post on paint...we decided after staring at the dining room for an hour that it was just TOO orange, so then we went and got a lighter shade of orange more of a cantaloupe color, however before we even got to cutting in on that one we decided it was way to bright, so back to the store on Friday and realized that no shade of orange was going to work, since the curtains and my art have a gold color in them, this is what we finally came up with "February Gold." I think it's perfect, and will NOT be painting this room again! I never mentioned before that the first orange color took 4 coats(literally) because we didn't prime it, them we primed before the 2nd orange color, painted that color, primed over it and ended up with this! Like I said EIGHT coats later!!!

A Sneak Peak

We went and had family pics taken the other day by the same photographer as one of our friends...these are just 4-5 of like 200 that she took! The rest are coming and I can't wait to see them! I've been wanting to do family pictures for a while and I really love Vanessa's(our photographer) style! I'll post more as they come!! (I love the one of just Maddox- he looks like such a little bug!!)

Per Request: from previous post

Okay sorry to those of you who have no idea what my hair looks like now...I didn't think about that! So- as Brandy requested and for those of you who haven't seen me lately, this is the style I'm currently wearing and gettting bored with.

Opinions Please...

Lately I've been bored with my hair, as I usually get when it gets to about the length it is now; so I'm looking for a new do! Should I keep it long but add choppier layers like this?

Go drastic with a graduated bob like these two? My girlfriend keeps telling me I would look good with this cut but I'm not sure I can pull it off...

Or go not as short as a bob but chunky layers shoulder length?

Mixed Feelings...

Okay so I finished my curtain panels, picked out paint, and am almost done with the diningroom (that is, if I don't repaint it). Notice in the before picture that not much is done and the walls are boring- since the fabric I chose has a mix of colors; brown, blue, orange, gold- I decided to give the room a "splash of color." (Note: the color on the walls was NOT the color on the paint swatch!) It dried much darker and brighter than I was thinking it would. SO my splash of color turned into a bit of a tidal wave. It looks brighter in the pictures than in real life- it's not quite this neon! I don't want to paint it any shade of blue, golds often turn to mustard or the 60s and brown might be too dark...I don't hate it, but I don't love it-keep it like it is or no?

Project:

This is my new fabric that I'm doing my dining room curtain panels in! I LOVE the pattern and the dining room has kind of been an unfinished room since we moved in. I hung pictures and have furniture in there but have yet to do the window treatments and paint because I couldn't find anything I liked- well I found the fabric finally- so more pictures of the makeover to come!

A Night at Kennesaw Mountain-

Today was the most beautiful day! It was only about 80 degrees and there was a steady breeze off and on- perfect weather to be outside! So this afternoon about 6 or so we ordered a pizza (the boys' favorite), and picked it up on our way to the mountain! We sat in the field by the tracks; which happened to be a big hit for the boys- being SO close to the train. We got to see 2 go by and ofcourse we left coins on the tracks just in time! After we ate, we played around with the soccer balls and frisbee until the bugs started to bite- what a fun night!

The Boys Playing

Just a short video (since I rarely upload videos) of the boys playing around yesterday morning...

For Aunt Lynn:

Aunt Lynn made a special request to see the "puppy"- so here he is! He is doing well and growing fast. When we got him at 3 months he weighed 20.8 lbs. and stood 15 inches at the shoulder. Now 8 weeks later (almost 5 months) he's 40 lbs. and stands 22 inches at his shoulders! He's got a ways to go though...I think males avg. anywhere from 32- 38 inches and 160- 190 lbs. We'll see! He's loves his bed- here I caught some pics of him napping!!

Deal of the Day!

So about a week ago Adam and I got in bed and right after he turned out the light I noticed our bed was vibrating...because our washing machine is below us and it's terrible! I was like, "did you have to start your laundry right now? It's 11:00!" He then informed me that he had no clean clothes. So the next morning when I went to switch his load I opened the laundry doors to find the washer nearly sideways (due to the fact that he completey overloads the washer!) In addition to it shaking half the house when it spins, it's terribly LOUD, and I think it smells. So I started looking for a new (slightly used one) on Craigslist. I came across a couple but they had been sold already or were in a set and the owner didn't want to seperate etc. THEN after a couple hours of looking I found a set of Maytag front loaders! Now they aren't brand new top of the line, but they are like five years old and in great shape. Some people got married and the wife had newer ones- SO, while I wasn't even looking for a dryer, I ended up getting both because he was only asking $400! I talked him down to $350 when we got there, PLUS I sold mine that we never even paid for - for $100! So really I only paid $250! WHAT A DEAL! And can I just say- they are pretty great...no noise, no turning sideways, no funny smell...I've done 6 loads of laundry in 2 days...normally I don't even do that many loads in a month!

Yesterday's Birthday Party!

Maddox's birthday party was yesterday! we celebrated with lots of food, fun, and new toys! Here he is eating his cake (above) and checking out his new tractor and truck!

Blowing out candles and opening gifts!

Happy Birthday Maddox!!! We had fun! Thanks to those that came!!

New Tile Backsplash

About a month ago I decided to make a little "project to-do list" so that when we finished something we could check each thing off and watch as the list gets accomplished...well, last week we checked one off! We tiled our backsplash in the kitchen:) Before it was just painted because we didn't have time to do it before we moved in, but we got around to it finally so below are some Before, During and After pics! (they're out of order but I'm sure you'll figure it out!)

July 2: Happy Birthday Maddox!

Maddox turned 2 on Thursday last week! Unfortunately he woke up with a little fever that morning, but in our house if it's your birthday you get a cupcake for breakfast! So that's how we started our day for him and that seemed to cheer him up a bit! Afterward we let him open a couple of his gifts from us and then spent a few hours by the pool!! Above are some pics of opening presents and blowing out candles :)
